Madinah Airport has been awarded LEED Gold Certificate by USGBC

Madinah Airport has been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification for the recent terminal expansion from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED certification is considered the industry standard in defining and measuring “green,” sustainable construction. The award makes Madinah Airport home to the first LEED Gold certified commercial airport terminal in MENA region, demonstrating Madinah Airport’s commitment to environment, sustainability, passenger comfort, and efficiency.
We are proud to have the first eco-friendly airport in MENA region to achieve LEED Gold certification!” said Sofiene Abdessalem, Managing Director of the Tibah Airport Operations Co. “A minimum of LEED Silver certification is the standard for all new construction projects at the airport, but Gold for a project of this significance exemplifies our deep commitment to sustainable practices.”
